In the summer of 1999, our founder, Mr. Wu—a seasoned hardware and electronics engineer—experienced a sudden vehicle breakdown during a road trip. Stranded in the middle of nowhere as night fell, facing a dead engine, he deeply felt the intense helplessness and anxiety that drivers experience during unexpected emergencies.

Driven by his engineering intuition, Mr. Wu realized a fundamental truth: if he could create a safe, reliable, and user-friendly emergency automotive tool, every driver could hit the road with true peace of mind.

Returning to his hometown in Jiande, Hangzhou, he founded the Qiantong Hardware & Electronics Factory. In those early days, Mr. Wu personally drafted every blueprint, calibrated the machinery, and conducted thousands of rigorous stress and conductivity tests on every single cable clamp and jump starter.

This relentless obsession with craftsmanship paid off. By 2004, the factory had built China’s largest production line for automotive emergency smart clamps. In recognition of its technological breakthroughs and intellectual property, the company was officially certified as a National High-Tech Enterprise in 2017.

Nearly three decades have passed, and the factory has evolved into a global provider of automotive emergency solutions. Yet, Mr. Wu’s original mission remains entirely unchanged. To break through the inflated costs of traditional multi-tier distribution and deliver genuine quality directly to car owners, the SAFEMATE brand was born.
